ur minds are often plagued with regret and guilt when we perform an action we aren’t proud of or observe an outcome we don’t like. Think back to the last time you felt guilty after enjoying a midnight snack, or when you regretted a large binge meal after seeing the scale jump up a few pounds. Why do we still perform these actions, despite knowing that we’ll feel this way? Usually there are outside factors that play a role - perhaps a long day or a stressful situation. The solution? Break the chain of events leading up to the action.

I'm guilty of bad eating habits especially when I'm stressed or bored.

I do understand.  I've been guilty of the same and it can be difficult to break that nasty habit.  I can say I'm working on it and have seen some improvements.
